Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Civil/Site Engineering Intern to join their Newburgh, NY team for Summer 2026. The role offers hands-on experience in various projects, allowing interns to collaborate with industry experts and learn about the design process while contributing to real client work.

Responsibilities

Our interns will assist technical staff on day-to-day projects in their respective disciplines

Preparing site plans under direction of junior engineers

Observe project sites and evaluate contractors’ work to detect problems with a design

Prepare reports and document project activities and data

Prepare analyses from collected data

Set up and help maintain project files and records

SWPPP inspections (will be trained on this by team)

CED internships are unique in that they are work-centered, meaning you are working on real, billable client work right away

In addition to the work-centered program, we also offer robust internship programming, which includes opportunities to work with other interns, learn about other areas of the business, and develop valuable communication skills and networking connections

Qualification

Civil EngineeringHydrology courseworkHydraulics courseworkAutoCADCivil 3DHydroCADLand DevelopmentEnglish proficiency

Required

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field

Hydrology type work or coursework and Hydraulics coursework

Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions

Junior or senior standing (going into Junior or Senior year)

Preferred

AutoCAD experience preferred

Civil 3D experience preferred

HydroCAD experience a plus

Site/Civil interest specifically Land Development

Students with some prior internship experience are preferred, but any candidates who apply will be reviewed and considered for different roles
