The successful candidate will support students in both general and special education settings, collaborating with teachers and service providers to implement Individualized Education Plans.
Education
Responsibilities
Support students in both the general education setting and the special education setting in either a one to one model or in small groups
Work closely with the classroom teacher, case manager, and other related service providers to deliver instruction as necessary to implement the students Individualized Education Plans
Help create student work materials according to their plans
Accurately record data on child’s progress
Qualification
Required
Two [2] years of post-secondary education or a combination equivalent to 60 hours of approved study in an educationally related field; or for vocational education, two [2] years of paid applied employment within the field of assignment
Educational Technician II Authorization (022)
NCLB Requirement (028)
CHRC Approval Certificate
Must have 90 hours of approved college credits for Ed Tech III
Educational Technician III Authorization (023)
Appropriate State of Maine Ed Tech Certification through the State of Maine Department of Education
Experience working with students with a variety of special needs
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Ability to build positive relationships with families
