Responsibilities

Lead a team of sterile compounding technicians and/or sterile support staff in performing sterile compounding activities in compliance with USP 797 and 800 and site SOPs

You will help to ensure team members follow safety and environment monitoring and control procedures as outlined in the Site SOPs and that appropriate PPE is worn while executing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks

You will serve as an Assigned Trainer and competency evaluator for new hire and ongoing sterile compounding and support staff in USP 797 and 800 required core skills, knowledge, and required competencies such as Garbing and Hand Hygiene, Aseptic Technique, and cleanroom suite cleaning assessments

Compound sterile medications

Assist with compounding equipment calibration and ensure appropriate use of equipment during daily sterile compounding operations

Perform the formulation of the solutions and aseptic filling of the solutions

Perform daily, weekly and monthly cleanroom suite support responsibilities including, but not limited to, compounding materials and supplies preparation, equipment calibration, cleaning, dishwashing, and sterilization or depyrogenation of equipment, according to facility SOP’s

Document compounding-related and daily, weekly, and monthly activities according to facility SOPs and as required by USP 797 and 800

Coordinate with the Pharmacist-in-charge (PIC), Sterile Compounding Manager, Pharmacist, and/or Lead Sterile Compounding Pharmacist for personnel, quality, compliance and regulatory matters

Communicate with Lead Sterile Compounding Pharmacists or Sterile Compounding Pharmacists to report on issues in the cleanroom suite

Utilizes equipment as instructed by the pharmacist

Completes training as required by USP 797 and 800 (and related chapters)
