Senior Tax Manager - Private Client Services
Andersen is a leading firm in Tax, Valuation, and Business Advisory with a strong global presence. The Senior Tax Manager in Private Client Services will manage client engagements, provide tax planning, and conduct reviews of complex tax returns while mentoring junior staff and participating in business development activities.
Responsibilities
Manage client engagements with the support and collaboration of other Andersen professional and outside advisors to deliver excellent client service and meet deadlines
Assist in providing comprehensive tax planning for a variety of clients
Serve as one of two key contacts for the relevant clients
Conduct primary and secondary review of complex tax returns - including federal and state filings
Perform research and draft technical tax memoranda
Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate Interns, Associates and Senior Associates
Participate in local office and firm-wide initiatives
Receive formal PCS and on-the-job training in daily interactions with top tax leaders to learn more about legislative changes, wealth transfer techniques, charitable giving strategies, buy/sell agreement planning, etc
Engage in business development activities (i.e. prepare proposals, present in webinars, collaborate with other service lines to present a comprehensive tax strategy to prospective and current clients, etc.)
Qualification
Required
6+ years relevant work experience in an accounting firm, with at least 5 years of Private Client experience
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree - Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree (Preferred)
Advanced credential allowing for client representation before the Internal Revenue Service required (i.e. CPA, JD, or EA)
Project management experience showing organization skills and ability to multi-task successfully
Broad technical knowledge of Private Client related tax issues
Strong critical thinking skills and problem-solving ability
Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills
Proven high integrity and care to do the right thing
Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Proficient use of technology
Preferred
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree - Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree
