The Underwriting Intern will apply fundamental underwriting principles, gain insights into underwriting processes, and work on various innovative projects across departments such as underwriting, claims, marketing, and actuarial during a 10-week internship.

Responsibilities

Apply talents in the fundamental principles of underwriting commercial lines insurance policies

Gain an understanding of the underwriting thought process

Utilize underwriting guidelines, procedures, rating manual rules and insurance laws/regulations

Work on innovative projects and gain experience through various departments: including underwriting, claims, marketing and actuarial

Present findings and recommendations to Berkley Southwest's management team

Must be enrolled in accredited University pursuing a bachelor's degree in risk management or business-related field and complete 50 hours of credit toward graduation
