Responsibilities

Contribute and support the Power, Lighting, Grounding, Lightning Protection, Fire Alarm, and Systems or Low Voltage Engineering efforts for the Firm

Execute design duties as required to ensure quality is always maintained

Direct and mentor subordinate staff of their responsibilities on a daily basis

Design layout of lighting, lighting controls, receptacles, equipment rooms, and equipment connections in coordination with team members within the discipline, as well as project team members in other disciplines

Prepare panelboard and equipment schedules

Perform system calculations. Size and select system components

Review shop drawing submittals, and travel to job sites to perform field verification

Produce field reports and punch lists

Author basis of design (BOD) narratives, design criteria documents, feasibility studies, condition assessment reports, engineering studies and reports, and other high quality highly technical written documents as needed

Edit design specifications; respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) incorporating information from project documents, specifications

Review shop drawings and submittals to evaluate compliance with applicable codes, project specifications, and design documents and criteria
