Responsibilities

Grid & scheduler architecture. Define the target state for multi‑scheduler operations (e.g., LSF plus Altair or Slurm), queue/Fairshare models, job submission APIs, session/pipeline scheduling, and guardrails for high availability and performance
License orchestration. Integrate license scheduling and policy/rusage governance to reduce denials, increase throughput and fairness, and simplify cross‑cluster feature management
Telemetry & observability. Build a converged metrics/logs/traces stack (e.g., Prometheus/Grafana and/or commercial APM) with SLOs, high‑signal alerting, canaries, and auto‑remediation (throttles, host quarantine, routing)
Utilization analytics. Productize dashboards and decision systems (utilization, wait times, storage I/O, capacity/forecasting) that drive investments and continuous optimization
Data protection & access. Lead engineering IP classification and least‑privilege access patterns; implement enclave/containment and monitoring/audit pipelines to prevent IP contamination while enabling collaboration
Hybrid HPC. Establish patterns for cloud execution (images/tooling, data locality, object storage, cost & performance visibility), then graduate pilots to production—safely and economically
People & execution. Lead managers/architects/SREs; run weekly ops and a predictable change cadence; partner tightly with design/CAD teams, security, finance/procurement, and vendors
