The role involves mastering medication compounding and filling, managing technology, and maintaining effective workflow within the pharmacy department.
Responsibilities
Learn and demonstrate the mastery of compounding and filling medication orders
Deliver medications to patient care and ancillary areas
Manage technology including Carousel and Pyxis
Maintain effective workflow within the department when staffing as expeditor
Complete all central pharmacy competencies and Pyxis competency
Advance into and train in other specialty areas such as sterile compounding, hazardous compounding, O.R., Controlled Substances, or In-Basket
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED plus one year of post high school education or relevant work experience required
Certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) through self-study is needed for promotion within the Technician Career ladder
Trainee will register with the State of Vermont Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician before the start of employment
Preferred
Inpatient pharmacy technician experience
Minimum of one year retail pharmacy technician work experience
Other relevant education or work experience may be considered
