Responsibilities

Perform electrical and mechanical commissioning on locomotive and coach cars
Troubleshoot, document and repair electrical and mechanical failures
Work with state-of-the-art diagnostic test equipment
Understand and comply with company and industry safety standards
Communicate with others, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, and other work-related information
Have ability to work independently and among a team with multi-disciplinary backgrounds
Read, interpret and understand written or electronic schematics
Use PTU’s to troubleshoot various systems onboard rail vehicles

Required

High school diploma (or GED)
2+ years experience in electrical testing
Must be proficient in electrical & mechanical troubleshooting
Perform electrical and mechanical commissioning on locomotive and coach cars
Troubleshoot, document and repair electrical and mechanical failures
Work with state-of-the-art diagnostic test equipment
Understand and comply with company and industry safety standards
Communicate with others, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, and other work-related information
Have ability to work independently and among a team with multi-disciplinary backgrounds
Read, interpret and understand written or electronic schematics
Use PTU's to troubleshoot various systems onboard rail vehicles
Candidates should be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment when required
Job duties may require standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands to handle objects or tools
Frequent verbal communication is necessary; occasional tasks may involve detecting odors
Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required
Specific vision abilities include: Close and distance vision, Color differentiation, Peripheral vision, Depth perception, Ability to adjust focus
