Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses supporting the Actuarial Science, Statistics, and the Computational and Data Science PhD programs
Maintain an active research agenda in actuarial science and related fields
Pursue professional actuarial credentials and actively engage with the examination process that governs the actuarial profession
Supervise undergraduate and graduate student research projects
Mentor students, including international students, by providing academic and career guidance
Establish and maintain relationships with industry professionals to enhance the program's visibility and opportunities for students
Participate in recruitment efforts and program assessment to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with industry standards
Assist the Director of Actuarial Sciences with program and curriculum development
Qualification
Required
A terminal degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date
Preferred
Professional certification as a fellow or associate of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) or the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS)
Expertise at the intersection of actuarial science and one or more complementary fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), data science, finance, insurance, risk management, or statistics
