Responsibilities

Advise the business teams on all aspects of structured finance transactions, with a primary focus on balance sheet and syndicated financings
Identify and address legal, policy, regulatory, commercial and reputational issues/risks
Manage all aspects of external counsel relationships and engagement
Provide subject matter expertise on regulatory and litigation matters relating to structured finance and mortgage matters
Coordinate with internal stakeholders including legal, conflicts, compliance, controller and audit teams to ensure consistency of coverage and adherence to firm policies, procedures and best practices
Assist in the creation and implementation of firm policies, procedures and guidelines

Required

6+ years of post-JD, transaction-based legal experience at a reputable law firm, investment bank or other financial institution
Strong substantive knowledge and significant experience in structured finance and capital markets including financing, asset acquisition and securitization transactions, preferably with strong lending experience
Familiarity with CFPB, state and federal regulators, lending, bankruptcy, and with various fixed income and derivative products
Possess excellent time management/organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple transactions with competing deadlines
Motivation to expand skill set and excel in a fast paced and rapidly changing business environment with minimum supervision
Excellent communication/presentation skills
Self-starter with strong self-confidence, good judgement, sound decision making and problem-solving skills
Adept at developing interpersonal relationships
