Principal Systems Engineer (ONSITE)

They are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to serve as a technical lead on software development projects, performing full life cycle systems engineering tasks and mentoring other engineers.

Responsibilities
In this position, you will serve as a technical lead and systems engineer on challenging software development projects such as the Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S) or the Battlespace Command and Control Center (BC3)
You will be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies
You will perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks including system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation (IV&V)
You will serve as Technical Leader of medium to large engineering development teams
You will act as systems engineering discipline subject matter expert for department, mentoring other engineers and solving critical technical problems with innovative solutions
Have the ability to travel as this position does require some travel to customer sites as needed
Qualification
Required
Experience with design and requirements derivation for software
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred
Experience with any of the following systems: Link 16 Tactical Data Link (J series messages), Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control systems
Understand and apply commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the systems engineering field (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, Mil-Std-499B)
Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect, and Cameo
Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) techniques and applying them as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)
