Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager for Amazon Neptune, a fully-managed graph database service. The role involves leading a team to design and deliver new features, ensuring high availability and performance while mentoring engineers and managing project execution.

Responsibilities
Lead the development of cloud-native database
Design, implement, test, and deploy database services optimized for cloud environments
Mentor engineers and managers while contributing hands-on technical work
Drive technical decisions, design tradeoffs, and feature prioritization
Partner with senior executives to define business targets and resource planning
Build and scale engineering teams through recruitment and talent development
Shape technical strategy to deliver innovative solutions for customers
Qualification
Required
5+ years of engineering team management experience
10+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
3+ years of leading development of applications backed by AWS services or using other cloud based technologies and services experience
10+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
