1+ years expVCU Health is seeking a Cytotechnologist for their Anatomic Pathology Core Lab. The Cytotechnologist will examine cytology cases, render diagnoses, and work under the direction of a Pathologist, ensuring accurate interpretations of gynecologic and non-gynecologic samples.

Responsibilities
Examines all types of cytology cases microscopically, identifies and marks appropriate cells, and renders the correct diagnosis of each case
Makes the final diagnosis on gynecologic samples evaluated as negative, with changes of and including moderate cervicitis
Makes the preliminary diagnosis on all abnormal gynecologic cases going into sign-out (greater than moderate cervicitis) and all non-gynecologic cases
Works under the general direction of a Pathologist
Makes diagnostic decisions on cytologic cases and applies the appropriate criteria to correctly interpret the cases
Makes correct decisions about the handling of samples for optimal preparations
Qualification
Required
Certified as a Cytotechnologist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology within 6 months of employment in position
Current CT (ASCP)
Bachelor Degree in Health Science (Cytotechnology Track)
Preferred
One (1) year of clinical work experience as a Cytotechnologist
Masters Degree in Cytotechnology or Clinical Lab Science from an accredited program
