Responsibilities
Research and prototype new blockchain features including Layer 2 solutions, cross-chain bridges, and DeFi protocols
Design and implement secure, scalable blockchain solutions that integrate with Fireblocks' existing infrastructure
Represent the company's interests and provide structured feedback to foundations on protocol design, tooling, and support
Advocate for features or changes that would benefit the wallet infrastructure and its users
Establish strong partnerships with blockchain foundations, vendors,,builders, and customers to address challenges, implement solutions, and ensure we are building the right blockchain integrations
Collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams to define technical requirements for blockchain initiatives
Mentor and guide other engineers on blockchain technologies and implementations
Stay current with emerging blockchain technologies, protocols, and industry developments
Qualification
Required
6+ years of backend development experience in modern languages (Go, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript)
Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Knowledge of consensus mechanisms, cryptographic primitives, and distributed systems
Understanding of microservices architecture and API design
Experience working in cross-functional teams and fast-paced environments
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Previous experience in the blockchain ecosystem
Preferred
4+ years of hands-on blockchain development experience
Experience building blockchain solutions for enterprise or institutional use cases
Understanding of security best practices for smart contracts and blockchain systems
Demonstrated ability to apply AI tools for programming with experience in vibe coding
Excellent technical communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with institutional DeFi, staking protocols, or custody solutions
Understanding of MPC, multi-signature wallets, or other advanced cryptographic techniques
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
