Responsibilities

Providing technical leadership and management for instrumentation and controls systems, including:
Industrial Process Control Systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI platforms)
Industrial Instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level, and analytical sensors)
Cybersecurity (NIST compliance for control systems)
Electronic Security and Camera Systems (access control, surveillance, and monitoring)
Building Automation Systems (HVAC, lighting, and energy management)
Communication Systems (wired and wireless networks for control systems)
Electrical Distribution (as it relates to I&C integration)
Managing and mentoring a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and interns, fostering professional growth and collaboration
Overseeing system design, procurement, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operations/maintenance for I&C systems
Ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISA, NFPA/NEC, UFC/UFGS, and leveraging current technology and engineering software
Supporting pre-contract and business development efforts as a technical consultant
Establishing and improving standards, procedures, and quality programs within the discipline
Driving innovation by integrating emerging technologies, such as AI and machine learning, into engineering design and production workflows
Staying ahead of industry trends and advancements in I&C systems, including digital twins, predictive analytics, and smart systems

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) and 15+ years of relevant experience, including supervisory/managerial roles
Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed teams of 15+ personnel across diverse projects
Deep expertise in instrumentation and controls systems and related fields, including system design, commissioning, and troubleshooting
Strong knowledge of industry practices, regulations, and engineering software capabilities
Control Systems Professional Engineer registration in California (and other states as required), with willingness to represent Parsons Control Systems discipline as its registered qualifier where needed
Active membership in relevant professional societies, such as International Society of Automation (ISA), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE)
Demonstrated involvement in professional society activities, such as serving on committees, contributing to technical publications, or presenting at conferences
Current security clearance highly desirable. Must be able to obtain federal clearance

Preferred

Familiarity with control system programming and integration, including PLC ladder logic, DCS configuration, and SCADA/HMI development
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems
Experience with AI-driven tools and workflows, including predictive modeling, automated design optimization, and digital twins
Flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving project needs
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
A collaborative and mentoring spirit to inspire team members and drive success
