Responsibilities
Define and build the next generation of Upstart’s Ephemeral infrastructure
Partner with XCUT teams to ensure all tools integrate seamlessly into Ephemeral Environments
Drive major improvements in tooling and infrastructure alongside your teammates
Enable product engineers to rapidly spin up fully functional environments for development, preproduction testing, pen-testing, lending partner demos, and other special use cases
Evangelize Ephemeral tooling by delivering best-in-class documentation and processes
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in a DevOps/SRE role
5+ years of deep, hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating Kubernetes in production
Proficiency and experience with Golang
Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, EKS) in production environments
Expertise in Linux systems: architecture, administration, troubleshooting, and operations
Preferred
Certified Kubernetes Administrator/Architect (CKA/CKAD) or equivalent certification
Proven ability to inspire collaboration and stay engaged on a fully remote team
Experience designing and building Kubernetes operators
Strong CI/CD skills, including building pipelines with automated test coverage
Broad DevOps expertise across scripting, IaC, automation, configuration management, and container orchestration
Hands-on experience with tools like Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Artifactory, Harness, or similar platforms
