Responsibilities
Define and oversee data architecture, modeling, and integration standards , including adoption of medallion architectures (bronze, silver, gold layers) for scalable and governed data access
Lead the roadmap for data pipelines, transformation, and modeling using tools like dbt, Coalesce, Fivetran, or Airbyte to ensure data is clean, unified, and reliable
Evaluate, pilot, and operationalize AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to support workflow automation, data analysis, reporting, and personalization
Drive automation of repetitive processes through platforms such as n8n, Agentic, or similar orchestration tools
Own vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and technology budgeting to maximize ROI
Establish strong data governance and compliance frameworks for accuracy, privacy, lineage, and cross-functional alignment
Deliver dashboards and reporting that provide visibility for executives, sales, and sponsors
Partner with sales, marketing, events, and editorial leadership to ensure data systems enable smarter targeting, workflow automation, and better sponsor outcomes
Manage and grow an internal team or vendor/contractor resources, ensuring execution is timely and aligned with business priorities
Qualification
Required
8–12 years of experience in data systems, IT, or marketing technology leadership
Proven success overseeing data architecture, modeling, pipelines, and integration in a complex business environment
Familiarity with modern data stacks (Snowflake, HubSpot, Omeda, ZoomInfo, BI tools)
Hands-on experience with transformation/modeling (dbt, Coalesce) and ETL/ELT (Fivetran, Airbyte)
Knowledge of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) and workflow automation platforms (n8n, Agentic, or similar)
Understanding of medallion architectures and how to implement them in a pragmatic, business-focused way
Skilled in evaluating and managing vendors, with ownership of tool selection and budgeting
Strong executive presence and communication skills — able to translate data and AI initiatives into business impact
Preferred
Background in media, events, associations, or martech strongly preferred
