Technical & Design Promotion Manager

Responsibilities

Partner with consultants, end users, utilities, and EPCs to define project needs, provide design support, product selection, budgeting, and promote ABB solutions for specification inclusion
Deliver comprehensive electrical solutions—including one-line diagrams, schematics, and equipment specs—for LV/MV applications; serve as the local expert on key products like switchgear, transformers, UPS, and power monitoring systems
Lead customer education through presentations, Lunch & Learns, and industry events; contribute to whitepapers and conferences; mentor Field Application Engineers and support internal technical development
Gather customer feedback to inform product strategy, conduct risk and financial analyses, and manage time effectively across multiple stakeholders while operating independently with a strong customer-focused mindset

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's in engineering (preferably electrical) with 8+ years of experience in electrical distribution, or a Master's with 4+ years in the same field
Background in field, plant, or design engineering for power systems in oil & gas, utilities, or industrial sectors
Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, and UL standards
Strong ability to collaborate across diverse teams, resolve technical issues, and communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken
Self-motivated, results-driven, adept at multitasking, and skilled in building relationships with engineering consultants and customers
Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
