Required

Candidate must have earned a doctorate degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field
Candidate must have earned a master's degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field with either: At least three years of experience working in a related industry, or a minimum of 3 years of teaching mechanical engineering or a closely related field at a higher education level
For a candidate to be considered for appointment to the Associate Teaching Professor rank, the applicant must meet the criteria for Associate Teaching Professor and have an additional six years of teaching experience at a higher education level
For a candidate to be considered for appointment to the Full Teaching Professor rank, the applicant must meet the criteria for Associate Teaching Professor and have an additional three years of teaching experience at a higher education level
Candidates must also demonstrate a record of distinction and meet unit criteria at this rank
A strong commitment to high-quality undergraduate engineering education and active engagement in the mechanical engineering field
Commitment to evidence-based pedagogical practices, including experiential and project-based learning
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to make decisions based on data
The ability to create inclusive learning environments for all students representing a range of diverse backgrounds and collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success
A commitment to staying up to date on advances in the field
A commitment to continuously evolve and grow pedagogically based on new findings in engineering education and educational theories

Preferred

Prior experience developing community partnerships within a program
Prior experience building new industry partnerships within a program
Prior experience developing new coursework
Prior experience teaching both lecture and lab-based courses
