Director, Accounting

The Director of Accounting will lead financial operations across various business units, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting while optimizing cash flow and supporting strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities
You will lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across multiple business units
You will oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions
You will ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP/IFRS and internal policies
You will partner with FP&A for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
You will manage external audits and coordinate with auditors to ensure timely completion
You will direct all aspects of corporate tax including income, sales/use, property, and international tax
You will ensure timely and compliant tax filings and reporting across federal, state, and local jurisdictions
You will develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position
You will manage treasury operations including cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and debt management
You will maintain banking relationships, credit facilities, and investment strategies
You will oversee payroll processes, controls, and system integrations (e.g., ADP, UKG, Paycom)
You will support 401(k) administration, vendor management, and compliance reporting
You will drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and system optimization across finance functions
You will collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Legal, IT, and Operations to support strategic initiatives
You will lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering growth and accountability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, tax, and treasury functions
Proven leadership in managing and developing high-performing finance teams
Strong expertise in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Paycom) and 401(k) administration
Proficiency in financial platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Lucanet
Deep knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, tax regulations, treasury operations, and payroll compliance
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Effective communicator with the ability to present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and foster collaboration
Experience managing external relationships with financial institutions and benefit providers
Comfortable navigating ambiguity, change, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
CPA or MBA
Industry experience in supply chain, logistics, automation, or consulting
