Quantitative Python Engineer, Financial Services
Business Integration Partners (BIP) is Europe’s fastest growing digital consulting firm, now expanding its US footprint across New York, Charlotte, Chicago, and Houston. They are seeking a Quantitative Python Engineer to support a strategic Enterprise Market Data initiative, focusing on designing and building a centralized Security Master Platform for a leading global financial institution.
Responsibilities
Design and build Security Master platform components supporting Fixed Income and Credit products (corporate bonds, munis, loans, ABS/MBS, CDS, CLOs)
Develop canonical data models and JSON schemas for security attributes, identifiers, pricing fields, and analytics metadata
Engineer Python-based data pipelines to source, validate, and transform vendor reference data from Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, and Markit
Implement data lineage, metadata modeling, and traceability to meet data governance standards
Integrate API and microservice architectures to expose master data to consuming systems
Build Kafka-based streaming workflows to support intraday data updates and message-driven distribution
Apply data quality rules: validation, enrichment, golden record assembly, survivorship logic
Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams on logical/physical data models
Participate in system design reviews, performance tuning, and deployment automation (CI/CD)
Qualification
Required
3–20+ years professional software development experience using Python and SQL
Strong experience building data pipelines and ETL frameworks in distributed systems
Capital markets expertise with Fixed Income or Credit products
Hands-on experience integrating data from Bloomberg (BPIPE), Refinitiv, Markit, ICE, or similar reference data vendors
Experience with messaging/event-driven architectures (Kafka strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of data modeling (logical & physical models), JSON schemas, and canonical model frameworks
Familiarity with microservices, API design, orchestration, and distributed systems
UNIX/Linux scripting experience required
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
Preferred
Experience with market data, pricing pipelines, or reference data management is a strong plus
