The Senior Backend Software Engineer will work within the Hopper Technology Solutions group to design, build, and operate API and full-stack solutions, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to enhance travel portals and deliver quality results quickly.

Responsibilities

Design, build and operate API and full-stack solutions
Operate autonomously but work closely with your fellow engineers as well as designer/PM to ensure high alignment
Explore engineering improvements for the team and the product
Collaborate cross-functionally with the product team, other Hopper teams and external partner teams
Our group operates with very few meetings and emphasizes strong alignment and asynchronous decision making

Required

Experience with distributed system development in Scala
Strong product thinking with a customer-focused conception of quality
Ability to operate autonomously while collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and product managers
Natural drive to deep dive into an unknown code base while focusing on delivering results quickly
Experience in designing, building, and operating API and full-stack solutions
