Media Communications Specialist
The University of California, Riverside is seeking a Media Communications Specialist to manage the non-print/digital elements of a broad omnichannel marketing program for Auxiliary Services. The role involves collaborating with various internal and external partners to maintain digital assets, assist with social media strategies, and evaluate marketing programs.

Responsibilities
Manage the non-print/digital elements of a broad "omnichannel" marketing program for Auxiliary Services
Update and maintain the digital assets, including websites, public-facing display screens (R'Talk), e-mail communication, and R'Space/R'Web ads
Assist Auxiliary Services department staff with social media strategies and content
Pursue new digital communication channels on campus and in the surrounding community
Serve Auxiliary Services clients, including Housing, Dining & Hospitality Services, Transportation Services, Early Childhood Services, Campus Business Services, and Auxiliary Budget & Finance
Work collaboratively with other UCR department marketing programs
Assist in the evaluation and research for projects related to effective marketing programs and processes; brand development, new media design, photography and strategic planning
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
4 - 7 years of related experience
Experience in graphic design, marketing and/or web design and development
Experience navigating and posting to social media sites including, but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr, Flickr and Pinterest
Experience as a photographer, including lighting, composition, retouching, photo-illustration, photo-manipulation and photo editing
Knowledge of all aspects of communications, including strategic planning for various media venues, technical aspects and requirements of various venues, and most appropriate and effective applications
Knowledge and understanding of technical applications to effectively direct technical staff, or personally perform technical work, including design concepts, various media, and applications
Solid skills to create, develop, and implement comprehensive long and short term strategic communications plans
Knowledge and skills to advise and consult with management to ensure delivery of the desired message to the target and/or broad general audiences
Solid written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active listening and political acumen skills
Knowledge of location protocols and channels for communication internally and externally
Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment; to display self-discipline to organize, plan and prioritize and meet goals given by deadlines; manage multiple projects at the same time while maintaining high quality
Knowledge of printing process and related production activities, including file preparation and output, prepress and print requirements
Knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts
Knowledge of current social media platforms and strategies
Knowledge of both Mac and Microsoft platforms using Adobe Creative Suite design software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other graphics applications, web applications, and interactive-development tools (e.g. Acrobat, Flash and HTML)
Preferred
Experience working with website Content Management Systems (such as Drupal or WordPress), web authoring and development tools and working knowledge of web coding schemes, including HTML5 and CCS
Experience creating and editing short videos and animated graphics, using such software as Adobe Premiere and Adobe AfterEffects
Knowledge of the organization, its achievements, mission, vision, goals, policies, practices, infrastructure, and a strong knowledge of current affairs, and issues in higher education and/or health sciences
Knowledge of basic photography and videography using DSLR camera
