As a Data Engineering Intern, you will play a crucial role in enhancing data-driven decision-making and irrigation optimization by working with cloud-based data systems and developing predictive models.

Responsibilities
Extract, clean, and preprocess data from Azure-based databases
Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities
Engineer features for predictive modeling and decision-making
Develop and evaluate machine learning models to support irrigation optimization
Document methodologies, findings, and present insights to key stakeholders
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate data solutions
Identify data quality issues and propose process improvements
Qualification
Required
Junior, Senior, or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
Strong programming skills in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib/Seaborn)
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure
Strong experience in data cleaning, feature engineering, and model development, with the ability to interpret data, solve problems analytically, and translate findings into actionable insights
Ability to work in the office, either Tuesday or Thursday
Preferred
Experience working with time-series or sensor data, particularly in agriculture or environmental contexts
Familiarity with geospatial analysis tools such as GeoPandas or QGIS
Understanding of precision agriculture, irrigation systems, or agronomy
Exposure to MLOps practices and deploying machine learning models in production environments
Experience with dashboarding and data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Plotly Dash
