Responsibilities

Accurately record AP accruals for invoices in process to support month-end and year-end close

Analyze and ensure completeness of expense accounts during close, completing additional AP accruals and reclasses as needed to ensure accuracy

Record payroll and expense reports during the month

Complete balance sheet reconciliations as assigned

Actively manage the accuracy of prepaid expense schedules, ensuring GAAP compliance and proper timing recognition

Collaborate with department heads and leadership to support the closing process

Collaborate with the manager, AP & AR, on training and opportunities for continuous improvement

Work closely with Financial Reporting to align on anticipated forecast results

Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies

Ensure proper audit documentation is always maintained

Provide analysis and variance explanations

Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries

Provide guidance and knowledge to junior accounting staff

Act as a subject matter expert on accounting principles and practices, offering insights and recommendations to support business initiatives

Assist the corporate controller to develop and implement effective internal controls
