Responsibilities
Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam
Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations
Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
Correctly sends and transfers images to PACS
Qualification
Required
Associate Degree Applied Science required OR
Completion of accredited program in Cardiovascular Technology required
High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of work experience in invasive cardiology required
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
ACLS—Advanced Cardiac Life Support—within 90 days of hire required
Preferred
1 year of vascular or cardiac angiography preferred
GMRT - General Medical Radiologic Technologist If ARRT Only Upon Hire preferred
RCIS—Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist—Obtain within 6 months of hire if graduated from Cardiovascular Accredited Program
LMRT—Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist—If you have RCIS certification only
