Responsibilities

Dispatch and track the locations of public safety agencies dispatched by the Aurora Police Department's Telecommunications Center
Perform constant data entry and retrieve information from a variety of computer systems
Extract data and record essential information during emergency calls
Operate a variety of communications equipment including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management System (RMS) radio consoles, telephones and other computer systems
Maintain required certifications to provide Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) and police related data entry and queries
Perform general clerical duties
Other duties as assigned related to position

Qualification

Required

Minimum of two (2) years of employment as a full-time 911 Dispatcher/Telecommunications Operator with a law enforcement agency
Experience in police dispatching and 911 call taking
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to work rotating shifts during training period
Ability to work the first, second, or third shift, including weekends and holidays
Ability to work mandatory overtime
Must successfully pass pre-hire requirements including but not limited to a polygraph and psychological assessment, interview, background investigation, drug screen, and meet physical requirements including a hearing test

Preferred

Spanish bilingual skills desired
