Responsibilities

Receive training and mentoring from editors and colleagues across departments
Work and train within a cohort of more than a dozen summer interns
Report and write news articles for the Chronicle and SFChronicle.com that reflect the diversity of experiences and coverage of multiple sports teams in the Bay Area. The candidate’s areas of interest will be taken into consideration for assignments

Required

All college students, including community college students or students who will have recently completed their associate or bachelor's degree, are encouraged to apply
This position will be full-time, based in the Bay Area, paid at $19.18/hr
Weekend, evening and holiday work may be required as news and games warrant
This paid 12-week internship typically begins in June and lasts through August, but there is some flexibility to accommodate college schedules
Strong writing skills are important, as is a strict dedication to accuracy, fairness and inclusiveness
Please include in your application a portfolio of your work, along with brief explanations of your role in the execution of the pieces

Preferred

Strong college publication experience or previous internships preferred, but not required
