Responsibilities

Performs Pulmonary Function Testing. Performs FVL, FVC, Lung Volumes, DLCO, MVV as required. Checks and validates physician order for testing procedure
Performs other duties as assigned
Maintains testing equipment. Generates appropriate paperwork to permit the interpretation of Pulmonary Function tests
Performs Methacholine Challenges. Efficiently schedules patients. Reviews schedule with Pharmacy to insure optimal utilization of Provo choline
Performs Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing

Qualification

Certified Pulmonary Function TechnologistRespiratory Therapist License-NYSNational Board for Respiratory Care certificationPulmonary Function TestingMicrosoft Windows softwareCommunication skills

Required

Associate's Degree or equivalent in respiratory care as recognized by the New York State Board for Respiratory Therapy
New York State Registered Respiratory Therapist license or Respiratory Therapist Technician license
Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (CRT), with CPFT specialty credential within a year of hire
Computer competency, including basic understanding of, and ability to work with, Microsoft Windows based pulmonary function software programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Cert Pulmonary Function Tech (CPFT)
Respiratory Therapy Tech-NYS
Resp Therapist License-NYS
Natl Respiratory Therapy Reg

Preferred

1-2 years Pulmonary Function Testing experience Preferred
