Research Scholar
Eastern Virginia Medical School is seeking a motivated postdoc for their Cryo electron microscopy laboratory to conduct research on the mechanisms of cardiac muscle contraction. The role involves utilizing advanced microscopy techniques and software for high-speed computing and data analysis, with ample training provided by the principal investigator.

Conduct research on the mechanisms of cardiac muscle contraction
Independently summarize data and relate results to published observations
Write scientific papers aimed for peer reviewed journals
Utilize Linux OS and write shell scripts
Program in SPIDER and Python
Use UCSF Chimera, Phenix and IMODFIT
Use any software related to MD simulations
Study muscle structure or muscle regulation
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. degree in structural biology or muscle regulation field is required
Applicant is expected to have at least one first author publication in international peer reviewed journal
At least one record of participation in international meetings related to structural biology or muscle regulation
Fast learning curve is expected along with the ability to independently summarize data, relate results to the published observations and write scientific papers aimed for peer reviewed journals
Preferred
Using Linux OS and writing shell scripts
Programming in SPIDER and Python
Using UCSF Chimera, Phenix and IMODFIT
Using any software related to MD simulations
Experience in studying muscle structure or muscle regulation
