Scientist/Senior Scientist, Analytical Development

JLSa2 Therapeutics, Inc. is a new and recently launched seed-stage venture backed company focused on developing novel multifunctional protein-drug conjugate therapies. They are seeking a Scientist/Senior Scientist to develop analytical assays for these conjugates and contribute to various aspects of product development as molecules progress from research to early clinical development.

Responsibilities

The candidate will support the analytical development activities of novel conjugates during transition from discovery into clinical development, primarily for physicochemical assays, and will support pre-clinical formulation
The candidate will also contribute to research efforts throughout the developmental lifecycle of conjugates
The candidate will work in a highly collaborative team with the conjugation, purification, and functional assay teams, as well as senior leadership, to ensure data integration across functional areas to ensure rapid decision making and product iteration cycle time
This position is expected on site at our SSF facility

Required

PhD in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or related scientific field and 5+ years of industry experience in the area of biologic conjugates is required OR
BS/MS in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or related scientific field and 10+ years of industry experience in the area of biologic conjugates is required
Requires a strong background in analytics of bioconjugates, such as SEC, RP-HPLC, cIEF, PAGE, with attention to detail, understanding of database systems for sample and data management
Demonstrated proficiency in both hands-on lab work and management activities, and experience designing experiments and reviewing, organizing, and presenting data
Must have strong technical writing skills and demonstrated experience working with contract research/development organizations
Demonstrated leadership ability, including a commitment to mentorship and development of personnel
Flexibility to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced start up environment is essential
Good communication skills are essential

Preferred

Experience with ELISA, SPR, oligonucleotides and/or peptides would be beneficial
Experience with IND enabling studies, regulatory filings, protein expression and purification is preferred
Prior experience managing direct reports is preferred
