Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a people-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join their Product Support and Development - Mechanical team in the Manufacturing Division. Responsibilities

Designing everything from plastic and sheet metal parts to machined components and automation stations
Conducting analysis — looking at tolerances, stress, fatigue, thermal effects, and running FMEAs
Managing a technical team to deliver results on time and within budget while developing employees
Owning everything from problem statement creation to solution integration and closing out projects
Involvement in design reviews and providing feedback

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
Approximately 4+ years of experience in three or more of the following areas: Automation integration, Materials and processes, Mechanics, CAD, Manufacturing engineering, Electronic manufacturing techniques
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to manage and track projects effectively
Clear and effective communication skills—written, verbal, and documentation
Quick to learn new skills and open to taking on new responsibilities
Works well in team environments
Must pass a background check and drug test per SEL requirements

Preferred

Experience leading small teams
Experience working with robotics, especially Universal Robots Cobots, and vision systems
Experience supporting design, automation, or general engineering in a manufacturing setting
Experience writing or running Design of Experiments
