Responsibilities
Take ownership of backend system architecture and implementation
Build performant and resilient data flows; keeping security in mind during every step
Work closely with product team to regularly ship working features
Work in an iterative fashion
Mentor and advise team members
Evaluate and deliver timeline estimates
Write tests as you code
Qualification
Required
7+ years of professional experience architecting backend systems
2+ years leading technical projects and/or technical teams
Proficiency with Kotlin
Proficiency with PostgreSQL
Proficiency with AWS: S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, etc
Experience implementing and managing elaborate integrations with third-party APIs
Experience working on systems that have real-world performance and reliability constraints
Experience with commercial cloud environments, preferably AWS
Experience developing software in a collaborative, multi-functional, and fast-paced environment
Strong communication and ability to manage conflicting priorities, setting expectations with stakeholders and be a driving force
Preferred
Experience working with Infrastructure as Code technologies, like Terraform and Ansible
Experience with SRE or similar infrastructure work
Experience with Data Engineering concepts and workflows
High personal code/development standards (code review, unit testing, documentation, etc.)
