PA/NP Critical Care - eligible for a sign on bonus
South Shore Health is a healthcare provider located in Weymouth, MA, seeking a PA/NP for their Critical Care department. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating critically ill patients as part of a collaborative critical care team, while also performing various clinical procedures and coordinating care with physicians and nursing staff.
Responsibilities
Performs evaluations, including: pertinent history and physical exam on patients assigned to Critical Care. Institute a plan of care based on findings. Inform the responsible Critical Care Physician of pertinent subjective and objective data and routine diagnostic and therapeutic measures initiated
Documents clinical findings and impressions on the patients record
Consults MD when necessary, prior to proceeding with care
Orders diagnostic tests
Prescribes required medications and treatments
Coordinates subspecialty referrals in consultation with the responsible Critical Care physician
Provides follow-up instructions for patient and/or family
Performs special procedures after orientation and documentation of competency. All procedures will be performed in accordance with approved protocols
Serves as clinical resource to nursing staff
Assists in the development of emergency nursing staff
Participates in Quality Monitoring activities
Assists in the development of treatment protocols
Evaluates patients in regard to discharge or admission in order to improve the flow of patients
Qualification
Required
Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant Program
PA - Physician Assistant license
Must possess current PA- Physician Assistant license
NCCPA certification
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required
Demonstrates history of proficiency in the delivery of critical care medicine to patients of all ages
Demonstrates history as a strong member of a Critical Care Team with successful completion of South Shore Hospital credentialing process
Preferred
Prefer two or more years of practice, preferably in critical care
Pediatric Life Support (PALS) preferred
