Responsibilities
Write compelling articles, analysis, features, and opinion pieces on key US sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAA, etc.)
Follow regulatory and legal updates in the US gambling market (Sweeps, prediction markets, brick-and-mortar, etc)
React quickly to breaking news and trending topics with original coverage
Optimize your articles for SEO, headlines, metadata, and internal linking
Ensure all published content meets editorial standards and aligns with our brand voice
Work closely with the Managing Editor to shape the overall US sports content strategy
Collaborate with SEO, social, and product teams to maximize traffic and engagement
Identify trending topics, keyword opportunities, and gaps in existing coverage
Qualification
Required
+5 years of experience as a sports journalist, writer, or editor in digital media
Proven ability to write fast, clean, and insightful copy under deadline pressure
Strong knowledge across multiple US sports leagues and their fanbases
Familiarity with SEO-driven content creation and tools
Solid understanding of digital publishing platforms (CMS such as Wordpress, analytics, etc.)
Preferred
Background in sports betting or fantasy sports content
Experience creating content for newsletters or social platforms
Ability to work flexible hours around live sporting events and key game days
