Responsibilities
Conduct thorough inspections of machined parts and other finished goods, verifying conformance to customer specifications and quality standards. Utilize the AQL sampling plan outlined in ANSI/ASQ Z1.4
Accurately document inspection results, testing data, and non-conformances in accordance with ISO standards and Xometry's quality management system. Maintain organized and controlled electronic records
Contribute to the development, revision, and maintenance of inspection procedures and work instructions
Coordinate the calibration of measurement and test equipment
Assist in customer complaint investigations and quality system audits, contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions
Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and customer support teams to address quality issues and ensure seamless communication
Perform all duties in compliance with Xometry's quality and safety systems, policies, and procedures
Actively seek opportunities to improve inspection processes and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the quality department
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on inspection experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
Strong ability to use standard measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to quality
Strong math and clerical skills
Team-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated and eager to learn
Preferred
Experience with PC-DMIS and CMM operation is highly desirable
Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is a plus
Proficiency with CAD software, especially SolidWorks, and the ability to generate drawings is a significant advantage
