Responsibilities

Heavy equipment operation (forklift/overhead crane)
Fabrication and construction of test setups/specimens
Assist with electronics and hydraulic configuration
Direct supervision of student researchers to promote and instruct safe working space
Other related functions as assigned

Required

High school graduation or GED
Four years of experience in construction related fields, maintenance of equipment or apparatus of the type related to the position
Willingness to learn in the position if candidate does not have the required training or experience

Preferred

Vocational training in a related field is desirable
Skill in the use of metal and/or woodworking fabrication equipment is desirable
Experience with light welding, light electronics, hydraulics (MTS Systems controllers, actuators, and load frames), and heavy equipment operation (forklift and/or overhead crane) is desirable
Candidate must be knowledgeable and diligent in standard safety protocols related to construction or shop practices
Candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well as a team member and independently
Candidate must be able to understand and speak English
