Responsibilities
Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, control, and IT/data systems for buildings
Lead and mentor other electrical engineering staff
Load calculations, life cycle costing and energy modeling
Review installation of designed equipment/systems for compliance with construction documents
Prepare construction cost estimates, both in a broad and detailed scope
Assist in developing feasibility studies
Assist in the development of contract specifications and research the application of new procedures and/or products
Meet, communicate, and coordinate with clients to develop scopes, prepare proposals, and oversee the installation of the work, and manage internal and external project budgets
Perform duties on concurrent projects of various project types, scales, and complexity within the established schedules
Qualification
Required
Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering
10 or more years' experience in building design, layout and analysis for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
Professional Engineer (PE) Registration in Florida or the ability to obtain within 6 months
Knowledge of LEED principles and Electrical Codes
Institutional design experience required
Travel to job sites and client offices is required
Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements
Preferred
Revit skills preferred, but not mandatory
