The role involves managing complex Java projects, providing 24x7 on-call support, and translating customer requests into technical specifications.

Responsibilities
The selected candidate will fill the role of Java Mid-Level Technical Specialist on the Traffic Records Systems (TRS)
TRS supports the Crash Data Management and Traffic Safety in collecting, analysis, and distribution of motor vehicle accident information
The chosen candidate will be part of the application maintenance team serving as the technical specialist and consultant by independently managing complex Java projects and providing critical second level 24x7 on-call support
The contractor will work with Business Owners in the translation of customer requests into technical request and user stories, coordinates software release schedules with the Business and Technical Team, develop business requirements, and provides testing and training support
This individual must have proven experience with enterprise level software development programs
Qualification
Required
Java Certification
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math or Engineering or related technical discipline
Experience programming in Java/JEE, Oracle, and XML for a minimum of 3 years
Experience with Web Services, JSP, Servlets, Spring, Struts, Eclipse IDE, and version control tools for a minimum of 3 years
Demonstrated ability in application analysis and design, cost analysis, estimating staffing needs, testing, documentation, and implementation for a minimum of 3 years
Experience providing technical helpdesk support for a minimum of 3 years
Preferred
Experience with Visual C++, .NET, CORBA, EJB, and Hibernate
Demonstrate effective communications in oral and written form
Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
