Responsibilities
Assist in developing and curating the company’s wireless communications patent portfolio
Work with the business to build and purposefully prosecute the associated worldwide patent portfolio and strategy
Identify patentable inventions; secure high-quality, strategic patent assets; provide expert technical and legal analysis; handle patent challenges; provide guidance in support of patent transactions and licensing matters; assign and manage work performed by outside law firms; and work with engineering and other business organizations to understand priorities and challenges
Provide cross-functional support for acquisition due diligence, IP licensing, enforcement, standards, and litigation activities
Qualification
Required
5+ years of relevant experience at a top law firm and/or in-house legal department
5+ years drafting and prosecuting patent assets, managing portfolios, developing patent strategies, conducting patent analysis, and providing support for standards, transactions, and litigation projects
Experienced in wireless telecommunications, wireless protocols, and communications hardware
USPTO Registration and BS degree in EE/CS/CE
Preferred
Familiar with wireless standardization (e.g., 3GPP and 802.11)
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
JD preferred
