NAVAIR - Software Developer Analyst

Responsibilities

Performing and managing software engineering and development efforts
Working with software requirements, design, process management, open architecture principles, integration, and test
Developing software systems designs, tests (including interoperability), and plans
Communicating effectively with software program leaders, engineers/developers, and stakeholders
Interface with Naval Air Station Patuxent River headquarters, contractor personnel, and other government activities for the program
Review data, reports, studies, designs, design documentation, tests, and equipment to determine conformance with contract technical requirements
Conduct technical reviews to determine acceptability of changes to contract required services or equipment
Determine the usability of items that do not meet contract requirements
Oversee direction, management, and coordination of technical efforts
Advise on technical issues
Monitor research, analysis, design, development, test, and manufacturing operations
Provide real-time access to subject matter experts for problem assessment and resolution
Provide technical oversight into the Program Increment (PI) priority workloads
Review and provide technical inputs on proposed changes to processes and software development plans
Function as a member of an integrated team
Apply risk management, configuration management, data management, trade-off analysis, technical performance measurement, technical reviews, modeling and simulation, and earned value management techniques in support of different segments of technical programs/projects
Knowledge of military avionics systems, components, and software design attributes
Knowledge of weapon system and avionics systems engineering procedures, processes, practices, and tools
Knowledge of DoD software acquisition processes

Required

An Interim ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position
US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance
Must have at least two years of experience in performing and managing software engineering and development efforts
Must have at least two years of experience in working with software requirements, design, process management, open architecture principles, integration, and test
Must have at least two years of experience in developing software systems designs, tests (including interoperability), and plans
Must have at least two years of experience in communicating effectively with software program leaders, engineers/developers, and stakeholders
Knowledge of military avionics systems, components, and software design attributes
Knowledge of weapon system and avionics systems engineering procedures, processes, practices, and tools
Knowledge of DoD software acquisition processes
DAWIA certifications
BS in a technical field (Computer Science, Data Science, or Operations Research preferred)
