Responsibilities

Conduct aircraft performance analyses for both fixed and VTOL aircraft across all phases of flight
Develop mission profile analyses and associated tools for subsystem design, flight planning, Pilot Operating Handbook (POH) performance charts, and concepts of operations (CONOPs) development
Support performance flight testing from test card generation to data reduction, model updates, and certification reports

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
3-5 years of experience in aircraft performance analysis and/or flight testing
Experience modeling and simulating aircraft dynamics and associated subsystems
Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and Python
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Experience with system identification techniques, from test definition through analysis and model validation
Experience with aerodynamic analysis methods of varying fidelity (panel methods, CFD, etc.)
Experience building and maintaining performance tools that generate work products such as mission profiles, performance charts, and performance projections
In-depth knowledge of design, analysis, and flight test validation of aircraft control laws
