Responsibilities

Study alpha-synuclein biology in mice and cell culture models of Parkinson's disease (PD)
Determine whether gender or lipid-dependent changes affect the alpha-synuclein tetramer:monomer ratio early in Parkinson’s pathology
Use unique mouse models to study early-onset synucleinopathy
Generate new models to analyze tetramer abrogation by other familial PD α-synuclein mutations
Conduct behavioral testing as well as molecular, biochemical and neuropathological analyses

Required

Extensive experience working with mice, including neonatal injections
Prior work with primary neurons and/or induced human neurons required
