Responsibilities
Support activities across the firm
Handle litigation and arbitration
Perform research and due diligence
Aid in financing and legal filings
Deal with contracts and intellectual property rights
Focus on the distribution and marketing of registered funds, separately managed accounts and model portfolios
Support various portfolio management teams on negotiating investment management agreements with large institutional clients
Support various strategic initiatives related to the public investing business of GSAM and the Third-Party Wealth business of GSAM
Identify legal and reputational risks
Manage external counsel
Involvement with relevant committees
Provide ongoing support with respect to other advisory, regulatory and asset management issues
Contribute to the analysis of, and formulation of strategic responses to, shifting legal and regulatory frameworks
Qualification
Required
4+ years related legal experience in a well-regarded law firm or an in-house role
Working knowledge of Investment Advisers Act
Outstanding law firm and law school credentials
Thought leader; strong analytical skills; sound judgment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong project and time management skills
Motivation to expand skill set and excel in a challenging business environment
Team player; adept at developing interpersonal relationships
