Start in 2026 SummerBennett & Pless is seeking bright and motivated engineering students for our summer internship program in our Nashville office. The role involves designing structural elements, preparing construction drawings, and coordinating with engineers to ensure project quality.

Responsibilities
Designing specific elements with in overall structural systems for a variety of project types, including manufacturing, distribution, data center, commercial, self-storage, churches, historical, public sector, retail, adaptive reuse, and renovations, and existing facility analysis
Interacting and coordinating with structural engineers and Revit/Cad Designers to produce deliverables are compliant with client expectations and Bennett & Pless quality levels
Preparing construction drawings in Revit/AutoCAD format, preparing calculations as directed by the project structural engineer, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, performing site reviews with the project structural engineer, and preparing RFI responses as directed by the project structural engineer
Qualification
Required
Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required
Possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written are required
Experience in AutoCAD is required
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment on multiple projects, tasks and deadlines, and bring each to completion
Preferred
Pursuit of a Master's degree in Structural Engineering is a plus
Experience in Revit is a plus
Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc
Ability to learn applicable codes in project-specific jurisdictions and apply to the project
