Responsibilities
Assists and leads in the development of new methods and procedures, as needed
Performs the duties of a Medical Technologist
Prepares and analyzes patient samples using current complex laboratory methods/instruments
Determines specimen integrity prior to analysis
Reports results of patient sample analysis using computer/instrument interface options
Trains other technologists on new laboratory methods/instruments and ensures compliance with accepted practices
Maintains compliance of area specific documentation for essential technical, IT, quality, and/or safety information
Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory instruments
Provides input into the performance evaluations/competency checks of technologists, technicians, and other personnel
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology and 4 years of relevant clinical laboratory experience required
Licensed Clinical Lab Technologist per New York State upon hire required
Preferred
Master's degree in related field and 2 years relevant lab experience preferred
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
