Administrative Student Intern Office of the President
Tacoma Community College is a public two-year institution that serves a diverse population of approximately 14,000 students. The Office of the President is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student employee to support daily operations, special projects, and campus engagement initiatives, providing hands-on experience in administrative support and event coordination.

Responsibilities
Assist with general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, copying, scanning, and organizing office materials
Provide front desk coverage, including greeting visitors, answering phones, and directing inquiries
Assist with student town halls and other events, including preparing materials, setting up the space, and managing event logistics
Assist with maintaining organized office spaces, supply inventory, and shared work areas
Draft and send email reminders and announcements as directed
Help manage scheduling logistics (room reservations, meeting set-up). Update and maintain databases, contact lists, and other office records
Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information
Other duties as assigned in support of the President's Office
Qualification
Required
Must be a current student enrolled at Tacoma Community College
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work professionally and respectfully with students, employees, and visitors
Dependable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to follow directions and complete tasks with minimal supervision
Preferred
Prior experience in an office, administrative, or customer support setting
Experience supporting events or outreach activities
Familiarity with data entry, record-keeping, or office management systems
Positive attitude, proactive mindset, and willingness to learn new skills
Experience using email communication tools for professional correspondence
Benefits
TCC Part-time hourly and student employees including work study students, will accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked.
Hourly non-student employees may be applicable for comprehensive health care benefits package for you and your dependents includes medical, dental and vision insurance.
Life and long- term disability insurance plans and retirement benefits are also provided.
TCC offers a comprehensive benefits package which include medical, dental, life insurance, and long- term disability insurance through the Public Employee Benefits Board (PEBB), along with retirement benefits through TIAA and the Department of Retirement System.
Employees choose from three dental plans. TCC covers the full dental premium for employees and enrolled dependents.
FSA & DCAP accounts allow employees to set aside pre-taxed dollars to cover out-of-pocket health care and/or childcare expenses.
Basic Coverage: $35,000 Basic Term Life & $5,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) This is employer-provided at no cost to the employee.
Basic LTD: Provides 60% of the first $400 pre-disability earnings, reduced by any deductible income at no cost to the employee.
Part-time hourly and student employees receive 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked in a month (and fractions, thereof).
All employees in salaried positions may take up to five days of paid bereavement time off for the death of a family member.
Monthly sick leave entitlement is 8.00 hours per month based on 100% FTE position and will be prorated accordingly if less than 100% FTE.
