Building Automation System Specialist II
Rudolph Libbe Group is a leading service provider of HVAC Systems and supporting solutions. They are seeking a Building Automation System (BAS) Specialist II responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building automation systems to optimize energy efficiency and enhance building performance.

Responsibilities
Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions
Inspect systems to determine if they are operating properly
Ensure the proper installation of components
Reviews plans, specifications, and design to understand project scope
Point to Point Verification
Test components for proper functioning
Diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of system components, assemblies, or systems
Set up and operate standard or specialized testing equipment
Ensure sensor location and functionality
Create images for various wirings, designs, or system dashboards
Present designs and reports to customers or design committees for approval and discuss need for modification
Design images/maps of controlled systems within a building
Discuss heating or cooling system malfunction with user to isolate problems or to verify that repairs correct malfunctions
Recommend, develop, or perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, tightening terminals, or vacuuming control panels
Advise others on issues related to repairs, installation, or equipment design
Troubleshoots and resolves malfunctions and makes recommendations that will improve efficiency or quality of operations
Adjust system controls to settings that meet GEM standards
Adjust equipment or system controls to ensure best performance
Record and report time, materials, faults, deficiencies, or other unusual occurrences on work orders
Complete customer service and expense reports
Document operational activities
Compile job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training forms, training certificates and punch lists
Provide sketches for changes in field design as directed
Instruct individuals on how to operate tools and equipment properly and efficiently
Help individuals understand how to effectively implement ideas
Mentor other team members through the workday to aid with any needed tasks
Suggest new ways of doing or thinking about tasks to improve efficiency and/or quality of work
Qualification
Required
5-10 years of proven work experience in design, implementation, and installation of building controls systems
Familiar with integration concepts and platforms such as BACnet systems
Good knowledge of optimization and energy management strategy for BAS system
Good understanding of HVAC systems/controls, and functions of building automation systems
Thorough understanding of control theory and control concepts
Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications
Possesses strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Proven attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be able to multi-task efficiently
Strong ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
Some knowledge of fire, life, safety and building codes and standards and ability to research and apply related codes and standards
Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset. Ability to perform work in a safe manner
Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification
Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment
Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs as they arise. Extended hours may be required
Experience with computers, computer networks and internet protocols
Preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred
Tridium Niagara 4 Certification
Distech 6001 Certification (not necessary but beneficial)
