Responsibilities

Manage the full lifecycle of Windows Server OS environments, including installation, configuration, patching, performance tuning, and security hardening

Deploy, configure, and maintain layered applications, including middleware (e.g., .NET, IIS), enterprise software (e.g., Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server), and security applications (e.g., antivirus, firewalls)

Oversee integration and compatibility of layered applications, ensuring they operate seamlessly on Windows Server OS and within network and security standards

Implement automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) to streamline repetitive tasks, maintain layered applications, and improve system reliability

Apply security best practices for both OS and layered applications, including patch management, vulnerability scanning, and access control

Conduct performance monitoring and tuning of both OS and layered applications to ensure system responsiveness and minimize downtime

Troubleshoot complex OS and application-level issues, working cross-functionally to ensure minimal disruption to business operations

Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, integrations, and troubleshooting steps related to layered applications and the OS environment

Collaborate with network and security teams to ensure compliance with company policies, data integrity, and optimal performance across the infrastructure

Ability to obtain and maintain US Government TS Security Clearance and SCI access

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related STEM field

3+ years of experience in Windows Server infrastructure engineering and layered apps (such as Active Directory (AD), DHCP, DNS, MSFC, NLB, Antivirus and Malware Protection/Scanning, MFA, IIS, Patching, Debug Tools, Monitoring, Manageability, PKI, etc)

Preferred

5+ years' experience in Windows Server OS environments, including configuration, tuning, and support for various layered applications

Experience with automation and scripting, particularly with PowerShell (VBS or other scripting languages a plus), to streamline OS and application management

Experience with security standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS) and implementing security best practices for layered applications and OS

Experience in troubleshooting skills and experience in diagnosing issues across OS, middleware, enterprise applications, and security tools
